Why adopt a Second Hand rat?

Rats are excellent pets! They are intelligent, clean, loving, trainable and fun to watch and play with.  Great pets for kids in small apartments. They don't require much space, can be litter trained, taught tricks and cuddled. They have the personality of a puppy and learn to follow you around the house. We love all types of rats but our extra special loves are hairless Dumbo rats (see photos), we have also recently discovered dwarf rats, soooo cute.

We prefer to place rats in same sex pairs or in altered (neutered male/ female or spayed female/male) mixed pairs. 

Spaying, neutering, and tumor removal can be quite expensive. Some rats come to us in poor health often with  conditions that require veterinary care. Medications can also be costly therefore donations are always needed and appreciated.  Donations can be made by sending a check or cash to us. Please email us for our mailing address

We currently have both male and female rats in need of new families, all are adults.
